About my experience as a Research Intern under the Head of the Economics Department at my college.

(Certificate)

_____

For me, the past few months have been devoted to the research-oriented initiative conducted by the Head of the Economics Department at my college. Its aims are manifold, ranging from identifying occupational problems for farmers in India to establishing an online platform facilitating direct business for farmers in Maharashtra.

With objectives that are this widely spread out, however, comes hours and hours of intense hard work.

Whether it’s collecting primary data about cultivation costs from farmers, conducting market surveys, analyzing government data, or conceptualizing the online platform from the tech side, the past few months have been a whirlwind of blood, sweat, and (unfortunately) tears for Research Interns.

I wouldn’t have it any other way, though. The learning curve with a research project like this is immense; and poses opportunities for growth that I wouldn’t ever be able to find in a classroom.

Research in the right field can change lives, and any menial task in an effort like that is
nothing less than huge.

Changing lives together or something like that?

Muse Report:

Over the past year, the country has been thrown into conflict, debate, and overall chaos because of the hugely controversial Indian Farm Bills 2020. While the decision-makers and the Opposition seem like the biggest stakeholders who headline all the newspapers,

the ones who always seem to suffer are the ones at the bottom,
the ones who put food on our plate,
the average Indian farmers.

This project hopes to serve them, and even 1 happier farmer in Maharashtra will make all of our work more than worth it. We aim to amplify the little voices at ground zero and I hope we succeed.

This one will always be for them.
